The box measures 3 1/2 x 1 3/4 x 1 inches, signed by a Russian artist Yu. Belov. At the autumn background pretty racoon is depicted on the cover of the box. It is painted so vividly that looks like alive. The racoon is painting very detailed and hundreds of individual brushstrokes make up the fur. This exceptional HAND PAINTED ART lacquer box was painted and lacquered in our own workshop. First, paper fibers are turned to a perfect papier-maché. This is then pressed into the required form, then heated in a special oven, and polished. It is subsequently coated with varnish, and polished and dried again. The further steps require coating with several layers of black lacquer (red inside the box), and again drying and polishing. Now, each box is coated with another few layers of carefully applied lacquer and painted with many thin layers of paint, which creates the unique luminous "lighting" effect. Then it is heated in the oven again and covered with 6 or 7 layers of transparent lacquer. The skill of the lacquering is what makes our boxes so different from the others.
